Due to (usually) variability in tolerances of pistol slides, some CHPWS tools may require minimal adjustment to achieve an ideal fit. This is not considered a disability. The plate is made of aluminum and can be easily mounted with a small file. If a fit is required, remove a small amount of material and the test fits the file space. The DOGTAG uses a gas deflection table in the front to provide protection and an anodized multi-faceted mounting plate that reduces carbon build-up on the glass, which is especially noticeable during operation. DOGTAG also reduces the gap between the optic and the slide, preventing the optic from moving and eliminating the possibility of the red dot changing to zero.
We offer two models, one for the Holosun 507c and one for the Trijicon RMR, both are interchangeable, but the Holosun model will stick better and will show a bit on the bottom of the Trijicon RMR. It provides a higher gas deflection table, which reduces the gas blowing better into the glass. For the Holosun V2/X2 DOGTAG, the M3 inscription is depressed due to the reduced mounting hole diameter of the Holosun 507c V2/X2.
