Glock 43x Mos Mods - If you need an optic for your Glock 43X, I'm here to help. The Modular Optic System, or MOS, version of the G43X features a factory-cut slide that accepts micro-footprint-sized optics using only an RMSc-type base. Not all red dot (RDS) will fit.

First popular with the Smith & Wesson Shield series, the RMSc facility is now used for a range of firearms including the SIG SAUER P365 series and Springfield Armory Hellcat optics. The sights are more compact than traditional rifle red dot sights and are essential for smaller rifles like the G43X.

I researched the uses of gun sights and checked out the many options on the market. To help you decide which red dot sight will work best for your needs, I present my list of Glock 43X optics.

Brand New: Glock 43x Mos And Glock 48 Mos

These optics will fit the Glock 48 MOS pistol. When I try to keep the list going, I realize I may miss a new product release. So, don't hesitate to leave details about anything that isn't listed in the comments section below.

Before I go into the details of each optic, here is a comparison table of the features and prices of currently available options.

MSRP prices for the Shield Sights model are estimates based on currency exchange and include VAT charged by the United Kingdom.

Ritton Optics offers you a compact DOT optic that is solidly built for your slimline Glock pistol. Called the X3 TACTIX MPRD, the sight is made of a 6061-T6 aluminum body and multicoated lenses. From a durability point of view, only the Swampfox Sentinel (scroll down) beats it.

What Are My Options For Rds On My 43x Mos?

The X3 TACTIX MPRD is a fully manual optic with 10 red dot brightness levels. The first and second levels are night vision while the rest of the brightness levels match the Mk1's eyeballs in most lighting conditions. Auto-off feature is triggered after 12 hours.

Riton boasts a light transmission rate of 99.5% with its high-density glass and multi-coatings. The lens coating is said to reduce glare, improve low-light clarity and resist scratches.

The company has a simple warranty: If it fails send it back and Ritton Optics will send you a new one. You don't need the product to be registered, you don't need any documents and you don't even need to be a first time buyer. Company's policy is to process any returns within 48 hours. It would be hard to beat that kind of service.

The suggested retail price for the Optic is $299.99. The idea is still new, so you'll have to buy it directly from Riton. As it comes to market, I'm sure we'll see discounts on this idea through regular retailers.

Shield Sights is the longest running manufacturer of small red dot sights for handguns like the Glock 43X. Currently, the company offers two basic models: the RMSC and the SMSC.

Made in England, the RMSc uses an aluminum body with a polymer lens to reflect the red aiming point. The Shield sites doesn't list the type of aluminum used for the body.

Shield Sights use an anti-reflection coating on the lens to reduce glare when aiming your G43X. Polymer lenses are used in many optical instruments and tend to keep manufacturing costs low. However, some people report that the lenses are prone to scratches.

You can buy this sight with either a 4 MOA or an 8 MOA dot. For me, I prefer 4 MOA, but 8 MOA is too many leaps for you. For defensive close shooting, a large dot isn't a bad choice, so do whatever you feel will work best for you.

The shield doesn't specify how many brightness levels you can use. Instead, the Dot automatically adjusts itself based on lighting conditions.

Shield offers a 7-year warranty on the electronics in the RMSC and a lifetime warranty on the remaining components.

As Shield is an English company, purchasing directly from the company requires a currency conversion from US Dollars to British Pounds. In addition, VAT or value added tax will be included in the purchase. At the time of writing, the property has a suggested retail price of £300 before VAT. Once currency conversion and VAT are added in, the price is approximately $472.98 plus overseas shipping.

Another Shield product, this unit has the same look but a few new features. The most obvious change is that the SMSC uses a polymer body instead of aluminium.

The shield also gave reactivity to the lens. Now you can get a polymer lens with toughened quartz adhesive on it for added durability and scratch resistance. You can completely replace a polymer lens with a glass lens.

Like the RMSC, the SMSC is a continuous scene with automatic brightness adjustment. When installed on your Glock pistol, the sensor measures ambient light and changes the relative brightness of the red dot.

The SMSC can be purchased with 4 MOA or 8 MOA dots. It enjoys the same 7-year/unlimited warranty as the RMSc.

For the polymer lens combined with quartz, the MSRP for SMSC is $346.85 including VAT. A glass lens upgrade will cost an additional $126.13 for a total of $472.98. Incidentally, this is the same price as the RMSc.

The Micro Roland

Alternatively, you can try grabbing one from a US-based retailer. However, for now the only retailer that appears to carry them is the Springfield Armory. The company's asking price is $299, but they are out of stock with no expected return date.

In case you didn't know, SIG SAUER is now an optics manufacturer. The company makes everything from range finders to high power scopes. One of its latest additions is the Romeo Zero RDS which fits the Glock 43X and other small pistols.

The Romeo Zero is made from a polymer body and lens. This makes them lightweight—about 0.4 ounces according to the company's specifications.

For durability, I prefer a 6061 or 7075 aluminum body. However, polymers have proven to be a strong material for gun parts. Similarly, I prefer a glass lens. However, polymer optics have a proven function, so you have to be careful with this idea unless you abuse it.

The SIG uses a motion activation system to activate the Red Dot. The system seems to work well, and I have no problem trusting it.

The brightness of the dots is controlled manually. With the Romeo Zero, you get 8 manually adjustable brightness levels. There are two models available: one with a 3 MOA dot and the other with a 6 MOA dot.

Another highlight of this idea is its price: $219. Buying it online brings the total cost down to under $200 with free shipping. This is the best value deal for wide-leg jeans on this list.

Reader Mike W emailed me about Romeo Zero compatibility with the G43X MOS. He noted that the mounting screws included with the sight are too long for a Glock pistol. It shows a problem I encountered while trying to mount a Romeo Zero on a Springfield Armory Hellcat.

I'm trying to track down a replacement screw set. It has been suggested to me that these M4-0.70x8mm flat head screws are a good replacement, but I have yet to confirm this.

If you use the Romeo Zero in your Glock 43X MOS, can you tell us what modifications or other screws you had to use?

The Sentinel is tough and built to take a beating. Swampfox machines the body from 7075-T6 aluminum—the same tough metal used in lesser ARs.

For the lens, Swampfox uses multi-coated optical glass to resist fog, water, mud, and scratches.

Furthermore, the Sentinel itself is seen on this list with an IP rating: a standard rating system for measuring water and dust ingress into electronics and other devices.

The Sentinel has been given an IPX7 rating. That is, it can remain submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. No other optics offer anything close to this.

Swampfox offers the RDS in two models: one is fully manual with 10 brightness levels and the other is a fixed version with variable, automatic brightness levels. I have the default version, and it works as advertised.

The photosensor samples ambient light and adjusts the 3 MOA red dot almost instantly. In actual use, I found it to work perfectly.

Swampfox offers a 50k round warranty on the Sentinel. In other words, if you have a problem with it during the first 50,000 cycles of Live Fire, they'll fix it. If you shoot 1,000 rounds/year, you will be supported by the company for the next 50 years. I'd bet, though, that the company would be willing to step up to make up for any inefficiencies in its production, as long as it's a round figure.

Due to the incredible popularity of Sentinels, the scenes sell out quickly. However, they are available here at a discount.
